Roberta Metsola does her job as a Member of the European Parliament for Malta ably, responsibly and in the best possible way. The people of Malta and Gozo deserve the best possible representatives to defend their rights in the face of a Government intent on steamrolling over its people, said leader of the Nationalist Party, Simon Busuttil, during an activity held as part of the election campaign for the European Parliament.
Simon Busuttil said she had only been elected a year before and had filled his former seat in the European Parliament in the best possible way.
Dr Busuttil underlined that the PN’s aim of having three representatives in the European Parliament is far from certain. He said that the people of Malta and Gozo have the opportunity to elect people from the PN who will always represent their best interests and urged people, after first voting for their preferred candidate, to continue to vote for every candidate on the PN list.
For his part, PN Secretary General, Chris Said, described Roberta Metsola as a “Member of the European Parliament who has worked diligently in the interests of the people of Malta and Gozo”. He added that in this last year Roberta Metsola has represented Malta with honour and ability.
In her speech, Roberta Metsola said that in the year that she has been a MEP she has always worked in the best interests of the Maltese and Gozitan citizens she represents – taking back the feedback from the people, civil society and NGOs she meets in Malta to the European Parliament and bringing back what laws are being discussed in Europe back to Malta. “In this way Malta will able to continue benefitting from our EU Membership - even from the Opposition benches, the PN is still working for the benefit of the whole country”, said Dr Metsola.
